SHORT STORIES

1. Everybody's invited to join the Short Story contest!  The rules are easy to follow:

a.  The short story must be K/S, although it need not be explicit.  (If you want to make it explicit, nobody will complain.)

b.  The story cannot be any longer than ten pages, using this formatting:  Times New Roman, twelve point, margins of one inch around, one line between each paragraph, indent each paragraph.

c.  The story must include one of these three words:
                          toy, cutthroat, bucolic.
Special mention if you work all three words into your story!

d.  Limit:  Two stories.

e. You do not need to be a member of the convention to submit an entry into any of our contests.  No need to be present to win.

f.  Send your entry to kiscon2004@aol.com no later than January 15, 2004.  If you need to use snail mail, send to

KiScon 2004

P.O. Box 494996

Early entries receive our desperately profound gratitude.  Write early!

g.  Only con-goers get to vote for the short stories;  choices are emailed or mailed to KiScon2004 in the two weeks after the con.  Winners are announced in The K/S Press and on the online list KirkSpockCentral in early May.  Prizes and really nice certificates for the top three!

All short story entries will be printed in The KiScon Zine:  2004.  A version of the zine without author's names will be in each con-goer's goodie bag, and the con zine will also be sold as a fundraiser for the convention through Beyond Dreams Press.  Each author receives a copy of the zine, of course.
